Emma Driggs Wins NIAAA Student-Athlete Scholarship Award for the State of Maryland
Senior Emma Driggs has been selected as the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association’s (NIAAA) Student-Athlete Scholarship Award female recipient for the state of Maryland. The purpose of NIAAA is to promote, facilitate and increase the knowledge and understanding of the vital role of interscholastic athletics in the educational system. This scholarship program recognizes the distinguished scholastic, leadership and sportsmanship attributes of high school student-athletes, and the importance of high school athletics in each student’s life.
This competitive program requires several minimum requirements including:
Student has achieved at least two of the following:
A minimum of B+ average
Ranked in the top 25 percent of their class
An ACT score of 24 or SAT score of 1100
Student has participated in two sports for at least two years
Student has earned at least one varsity letter in each of two sports
As the state award recipient, Emma will be presented with a $500 scholarship and plaque and has moved on to qualify for the next round of the program, the NIAAA Section award winner.
