Our School Counselors serve to:

Help children in relationships with others, in self-understanding, to set goals and develop self-direction to reach those goals

Coordinate efforts on behalf of child among teachers, parents and other school and community personnel

Engage in consultations with students, parents and teachers by appointment through the Counseling Department

Facilitate outside referrals and community resources

Send transcripts, school records and scholarship applications on request

Teach social-emotional, academic, organizational techniques and study skills

Maintain an up to date list of tutors made available upon request

Share Knott Scholarship application information for students in grades 4 and 8

Assist new students in transition to school and greater St. Mary’s community

Coordinate Career Day for 7th and 8th graders
- Organize and implement school-wide PBIS programming
- Coordinate Student Accommodation Plans and attend IEP/school team meetings
Our Middle School Academic Advisor serves to:

Complete all Grade 8 high school applications and transcript requests

Provide data for applications and enrollment

Actively monitor Power School
-
Communicate with students, parents, teachers and administration regarding academic concerns
-
Coordinate exams and review sheets with individual teachers
-
Collaborate with the Middle School Counselor and teachers to implement Student Accommodation Plans

Collaborate with Math Department to determine math placement for grades 6-8
