Saint for a Day FAQs

List of 7 frequently asked questions.

  • Why visit the open house?

St. Mary's High School open house is a must see as part of the admissions process. This is when the school comes alive for an afternoon. You get to explore campus, meet faculty, coaches, administration. You can talk to parents and students to hear about their experience firsthand. It's a wonderful, spirited afternoon offering the opportunity to engage with those you may choose to entrust with your teen should St. Mary's become your home.
  • What is a Saint for a Day?

Scheduling a Saint for a Day visit is a the perfect opportunity for your teen to experience our campus in session during a normal school day.  They will get to participate in several 85 minute classes, enjoy lunch provided and interact with one of our dynamic student ambassadors.
  • How do you match the shadow/ambassador for the day?

Our group of over 50 ambassadors will be thoughtfully matched to your teen’s interests to ensure an unforgettable visit.  Although you can make requests for shadow students, I cannot guarantee your child will be placed with that particular student. Keep in mind, we want your teen to experience a snapshot of a true, spirited high school day and often times it’s fun to meet someone new that shares their interests.
  • What is the timing of the day?

What can you expect as a Saint for a Day?
    Tentative schedule:

    • Arrival: Check-in with the Director of Admissions at the main office in the High School at 8:15 a.m.
    • Campus tour
    • Introduction to student ambassadors
    • Two to three, 85 minute classes
    • Lunch (provided) in the cafeteria by Harry Browne's
    • Wrap up
    • Dismissal: 2 p.m.
  • What should my teen wear for his/her visit?

Your teen should wear something they would wear to church. Young men normally wear khakis, a polo or button down and dress shoes and young ladies typically wear a dress or skirt or pants and a top. No jeans, shorts, tank tops, flip flops or sweats please.
  • What should my teen bring?

An eagerness to learn and have an awesome day is a MUST. If your teen requires medication such as Epi-pen or inhaler, please let us know. Cell phones must be turned off for the duration of the time at St. Mary’s High School.
  • Parking

There is limited parking on campus. Feel free to double park behind our faculty parking closest to the building. You can also park in the lot closest to the water. Our address is 113 Duke of Gloucester Street, Annapolis, MD 21401.
