  • The McGeady Family Scholarship

    Awarded by faculty and donors. No formal application is required.

    The McGeady Family Scholarship, an endowed fund, awards one St. Mary’s elementary student a four-year, $1,000 annual scholarship to St. Mary's High School. The recipient is selected by the donors or their designated representative from three finalists selected by the elementary school principal and his/her appointed representatives. Decision will be based on the students overall scholastic excellence, including test scores, grades, classroom effort and conduct, demonstrated service to the parish/community, and exemplary character. Applicants must maintain a 3.5 average during their matriculation at St. Mary’s High School.
  • The Richard D. Crabtree Spirituality Scholarship

    Awarded by faculty and donors. No formal application is required.

    The Richard D. Crabtree Spirituality Scholarship Award is a one time $1,000 scholarship for a St. Mary’s Elementary School student who is going on to St. Mary’s High School. A permanent part of the St. Mary’s School endowment, this award honors the memory of Richard D. Crabtree, a parishioner and friend of St. Mary’s School. Mr. Crabtree believed that the greatest value of Catholic education was to grow in the knowledge and practice of faith and service to others. His family has chosen to honor his legacy by recognizing a student who strives to exemplify in his or her daily life the qualities of a St. Mary’s Saint: courage, responsibility, integrity, perseverance, compassion, respect and self-respect.
  • The Father Max Pauli C.Ss.R Creative Writing Award

    Awarded by faculty and donors. No formal application is required.

    The Father Max Pauli C.Ss.R Creative Writing Award is a one time $1,000 scholarship award for a St. Mary’s Elementary Student who is going on to St. Mary’s High School. The award is determined by the eighth grade teachers based on the student’s overall excellence in creative writing, including grades, classroom effort and conduct, and exemplary character. A permanent part of the St. Mary’s School endowment, this award honors the years of service of Fr. Max Pauli, a Redemptorist Priest and published author who served as prefect of both St. Mary’s Elementary School and High School until his death in 1990.
  • The School Sisters of Notre Dame Mathematics Scholarship Award

    Awarded by faculty and donors. No formal application is required.

    The School Sisters of Notre Dame Mathematics Scholarship Award is a one time $1,000 scholarship award for a female St. Mary’s Elementary Student who is going on to St. Mary’s High School. The award is determined by the eighth grade teachers based on the student’s overall excellence in mathematics, including test scores, grades, classroom effort and conduct, and exemplary character. A permanent part of the St. Mary’s School endowment, this award honors the great contribution and legacy of the School Sisters of Notre Dame, whose charism and teaching tradition has graced St. Mary’s School for almost 140 years.

  • The Frederick M. Gossman Memorial High School Scholarship

    Designed to assist sons and daughters of members of the Knights of Columbus in paying tuition at accredited Catholic high schools. Three grants of $1,500 per year for up to four years will be awarded. Awards are given on the basis of academic excellence, personal qualifications, and financial need.
  • The William J. O'Brien Jr., Memorial Catholic High School Scholarship

    Three grants of $1,500 per year for up to four years will be awarded. Open to Catholic students officially accepted at (or students at) accredited Catholic high schools in the jurisdiction fo the Maryland State Knights of Columbus. Eligibility is open to Catholic students who are residents of the State of Maryland, and to children and grandchildren of a member of a Knights of Columbus council within Maryland. Applications are judged on academic excellence, personal qualifications, and financial need.

Foundation Scholarships Awarded To St. Mary’s Students

  • The Knott Scholarships for Grades 4 and 8

    The Knott Scholarship Funds offers four year, full tuition elementary and secondary scholarships to academically accomplished students entering the 5th or 8th grades. This unique scholarship is only available to Catholic students in the Archdiocese of Baltimore who wish to attend a Catholic school.   • The Theresa F. Truschel Charitable Foundation, Inc.

    Established to provide scholarships to students attending Catholic schools at all levels, as well as to provide grants to Catholic institutions and organizations which are helping those in need who require temporary financial assistance to support themselves and their families. Applications must be postmarked by April 30th.

  • Catholic Daughters of the Americas National Scholarship

    The National Court will award a $500.00 scholarship to an 8th grade student entering the 9th grade in the fall to a Catholic High School. The National Court will also award a $500.00 scholarship to an 8th grade student entering the 9th grade in the fall to a Public or Private High School. Notification of scholarship awards will be posted on the CDA website at www.catholicdaughters.org by mid-August. Please complete the appropriate application and mail to (postmarked no later than May 1st)

The Maryland State Council of the Knights of Columbus Scholarship Programs

The Maryland State Council of the Knights of Columbus is the sponsor of several high school scholarships for its members and for Catholic students in general. The application period is from beginning of October to end of January each year. All applications must be received by the scholarship committee no later than the last day of January each year. For additional information please view the Knights of Columbus website:
