Middle School iPad Program

At St. Mary’s, technology plays an essential role in enhancing the learning experience, and our 1:1 iPad Program ensures every student in grades 6–8 has access to a powerful educational tool throughout the school day. These school-owned iPads are used exclusively for academic purposes and are seamlessly integrated into classroom instruction to support organization, creativity, collaboration, and access to a wide range of digital learning resources.
Each day, students use their iPads to:
• Access textbooks and instructional content
• Collaborate with peers and teachers across subjects
• Produce multimedia projects and presentations
• Develop digital literacy and research skills
• Engage in coding, design, and creative problem-solving
• Receive real-time feedback and stay connected with their coursework
The consistent, structured use of iPads has enriched learning at St. Mary’s, empowering students to take greater ownership of their education while preparing them for the demands of high school and beyond.

iPad Use at Home

While iPads used at school are provided and managed by St. Mary’s, we encourage families to maintain a similarly capable device at home to support students in completing assignments, accessing school platforms, and continuing projects outside of school hours. For the best experience and compatibility, we recommend the following:
Preferred device: Apple iPad (9th Generation or newer) or iPad Air (2020 model or newer)
Minimum specifications: 64 GB memory, must be able to run the latest iPadOS updates
Accessories: Headphones/earbuds are recommended for multimedia assignments; keyboard or stylus optional
A list of school-approved apps is pre-installed on student iPads, and additional resources may be recommended throughout the year. Although families are not expected to purchase a separate device for school use, ensuring your student has access to a compatible device at home helps create a seamless transition between school and home learning environments.
